Fusing Modern Technology With Old-World Tradition
Fusing Modern Technology With Old-World Tradition
Located in Mississauga, Ontario. Traditional Cut Stone is housed on over 45,000 square feet of carving, studio and storage space.
Because we work on large scale restoration and monuments, we invest in both heavy technology and traditional hand carving tools to help us transform the stone.
This combination of traditional methods and modern machinery means we can work on large scale and complex projects efficiently and accurately, and with same attention to detail you’d expect from the best masonry art department in North America.
Fabrication equipment includes:
- Two Italian GMM 38 Axia 48” profile saws
- One GMM 60” primary saw
- One OMAG lathe
- One 5-axis and two 3-axis Prussiani CNC machines
- Overhead cranes & forklifts capable of lifting 10,000 lbs of stone
While modern technology is critical, our most important asset is our team of talented artists and hand-carvers who have honed their stone carving techniques for decades. Our machines augment the carvers’ skilled hands and eyes.
Traditional Cut Stone offers clients the largest masonry art department in North America complete with clay modelling and plaster casts.
Students and clients regularly tour our studios to experience the fusion of traditional carving tools with modern technology, and to better understand the painstaking detail and historical accuracy our artists bring to their work. A tour of Traditional Cut Stone allows visitors to witness the artistic process first hand.
